The Baby and Sissy...

I got home from work last night at 8:15 and Sadie was out in the front yard with my mom. I thought it was just because my mom was a little lonely, but I soon learned that a few moments before my arrival, Sadie found Birdie's sister. I soon named her Sissy Birdie. The 2 of them were so incredibly cute! They cuddled up all night together. It was just what Baby Birdie needed. I was so excited because now Baby wasn't alone. I thought Sissy may even help her survive through the next couple of weeks. This is a picture of baby. He doesn't have all of his feathers yet, but he is super cute. Every time he gets hungry he looks at you, opens his mouth, and chirps like crazy. It's adorable. Sissy didn't really do much last night. She only cuddled up in the corner and went to sleep. At first we tried to seperate them with a towel, but Baby was very persistant and found his way over to Sissy. It was so cute watching them cuddle together. When I woke up this morning and put Sadie outside I checked on the birds. They were very hungry and were chirping like crazy, but they were both still cuddled up in the corner together. It was so cute. I kept Sadie outside and went upstairs to read. A few hours later, or about 20 minutes ago, I got a text from Terry saying that Sissy got out and Sadie ate her. It broke my heart. I ran downstairs to see what was going on. I thought maybe Terry was joking. I found Sadie by the door with pieces of Sissy in her mouth and on the ground. I immediately starting crying. I love every animal very much and it breaks my heart that Sadie, who I love more than anything can do that do a helpless animal. I know she didn't know better, but it still breaks my heart. There is nothing left of Sissy to bury, but I will always remember her.

This is Sissy Birdie. You can see she is a few weeks older then Baby. She had all of her feathers and could walk around a lot better. I think she came to find Baby and tell their parents where he is. Sissy was just a baby and even though we only had a her for a few hours I loved her very much.
